Shorten School?

I think it’s a good idea to shorten school so that after EOG’s we could just go home. Whats the point of calling EOG’s END OF GRADES when we’re just going to take more tests later? We would most likely fail those tests becuase EOG’s just passed by. If the writing test is required make it the day after EOG’s. This schedule may be packed but it’s reasonable.

Plastic bottles, part 2

5/13/09

Most people tend to keep those types of plastic bottles, but they are really hard to clean if you put something other than water into it. In the end, (Unless you always put water and nothing else into containers.) they will smell bad and people might throw them out. I’m not saying it’s BAD and it might be a good idea. But I think we should include something that makes it easier to clean.

To test or to not to test

5/13/09

I think the EOG’s should stay. I cannot (At this moment.) think of anything to replace EOG’s. They ensure we pass and dont end up as a lifeless hobo begging on the streets.  Some people stay back a grade because they don’t pass the EOG’s, but I think they shouldn’t have raised the standards. If we dont pass the writing test we get held back, but some people may just happen to read slower than others. I think we should still have the EOG’s but for them to be more lenient.

Plastic bottles

Each year, an estimated 9.2 billion plastic water bottles are disposed of. If these are recycled, they go into different plastic products. If we do not have water bottles, things would become very inconvenient. They may switch products but that may be costly. Taking water with you anywhere would be a problem. If we tossed our bottles into the trash it would take a century for it to decompose and pollute the ground water. In my opinion, I think we all should keep using them, just have more encouragement to recycle.

If I could do something that I would not fail at

Joshua Liao 4/16/09

If I could do something I would not fail at, it would be a simple, fair, race with about 10 people my age and that I would at least be in third place. I am confident in this because, half the time, some of the people who race dont try in the end. I have a fast time in my races for the 7nth grade. I like to run, unlike some people.

OUTSOURCING

In my opinion, people all over the world should get a job with a decent pay. Something pretty similar. There has to be SOME type of reason why the pay is a lot less over on the other side of the world. If we are to hire someone over there, why not pay them something more similar to what we pay here? Its unfair.

Money

Money is nice, but it’s not something you want to spend every week on entertainment. Some people (including me) have allowance, and sometimes you wish it were more. I earn about 10$ a month with continuous chores and perhaps washing the car or pulling weeds for 4 hours.

Money around the world is a large problem. A large amount of people in Africa can’t earn enough to even feed there own family! We need to appreciate what we have and give to the needy. We shouldn’t waste food either. Imagine if you lived in a state where you had a piece of moldy bread and that was all you have for a months food source. Would you throw it away?

Life

My life, is boring. You wake up at 7 am, attempt to do your hair (if there is time) and eat (again, if there is time). I must leave home at 7:20 at the latest to get to the bus stop. I go to school, do my work, go to track until 4:45. Then I get depressed over random subjects, and take a small nap. I do my homework from around 7 to 8-10 pm.

But then again, life is also fun. If you have a lot of friends, they sometimes invite you to do something entertaining with them. Such as doing something completely out of the ordinary. Sports is something I really like. But I need to start studying more!
